Why buy when you can build?! And I’m all about supporting wholesome, engaging activities of our kids’! We all know, too, that a handmade and personalized gift is very meaningful. Although I love woodworking, I prefer the artsy stuff to regular carpentry. However, I got learn how Lazy Susan’s work with this project! Brianna came up with the idea to use a Lazy Susan bracket for these. The ball-bearing spinning bracket is pretty neat and took me longer to figure out than I’d like to admit. And more disclosure, I just went and bought the precut circular pieces. Someday I’ll dabble more in making those myself. In the end, these were quick and easy but meaningful pieces for two people I love!

Our 12-year-old daughter is one helluva baker. She is seriously incredible. (She even made the cupcakes for our wedding.) She said one day that she wanted one of those cool turntables for decorating cakes — so we made her one! Custom designed with a logo I whipped up for her. When I posted it on Instagram, our friend Amanda fell in love with it…so we made her a personalized one for her birthday!
