Once again, a handmade gift is the best. And this one, I almost didn’t want to let go. I went back to the barnwood stash and found a couple really cool pieces with tinges of orange and teal. I cut them down to size and fastened them together. I used the good ‘ol router to cut out a place on the back for the clock parts. I took a little shrapnel to the face as this old wood is pretty splintered on the surface. One piece was cedar and smelled amazing when I cut in to it! Brianna fired up the paint pen and did her pretty handwriting thing; I’m always amazed how she can just so effortlessly write so nice. I wonder if the recipient has given up on me coming over to help hang this thing because it is a beast!

I love the way this huge clock turned out! I was probably more excited to give it to the recipient (my sister) than she was to get it, ha! It has a ton of old world charm to it, and I love the way the handwritten numbers are naturally distressed from me painting on the old barn wood. This was a fairly quick project to come together, thanks to a very handy hubby, but it has so much impact! I kind of want to make one for ourselves.
