Simple and meaningful. Those are the best gifts. Here’s another great example. I go to the backyard wood pile and she goes to the crafting desk. Twenty minutes later, voila! Somehow, the perfect piece of wood always presents itself for projects like this. I just grabbed it, chopped it to size, cut in some keyholes, and screwed in some hooks. Then, again, SOMEHOW, a message with pretty lettering ended up on it?! This hangs in a prominent place so I get to appreciate it regularly still!

We try to give handmade as much as possible. And I’ve always approached gifting that way. Sooooo, after umpteen holidays of gifting to my parents, you would think I’d start running out of ideas. But NO! They just keep comin’. I know my parents love showing off their grandbabies, but don’t have very many ways/places to display photos. I thought this photo hanger would make a super simple, really cute way for them to swap out pictures as their grandkids keep growing! The piece of reclaimed barnwood was perfect for this project, and I got an excuse to do some more hand lettering, which I’m pretty much obsessed with doing.
