This spool presented a little differently. One section of the end was all smashed up so it took a little while to come up with the simple solution: just cut that part off! It actually works very nicely as it can just sit up against a wall but still provide a lot of tabletop area. This one had a ton of staples in it and it took quite a bit of sanding to clean it up. But, with that complete, I used up an old can of Mahogany Red stain and this one looks sweet!. The metal rods that hold the thing together actually protrude out the end on this one so I added some “slider feet” from scrap.

This is the third small table made from the wooden spools we got. It’s sporting a deeper, redder stain, and this one almost has a steam-punk feel to it. We haven’t decided what to do with this one yet, but it’s just so pretty!
